Hello Starlight!

So I said I had something special that I was going to share with you this Feb! The time has come. It’s the song that put me on the music map… vocally. You see, before I became a singer I was known for my instrumental music. I always wanted to sing but never thought I could. I would spend hours in my room fantasying about being on stage and singing and that was all it was… a fantasy. I never thought it would ever come true.

So one day, I was singing karaoke to my dad. He always love to hear me sing. I went out and got a few Stevie Nicks karaoke cds and would sing to him in his last and final years. We would say to me, “You really can sing, really!” I guess I wanted to believe him but I was ok with just singing to him and making him happy.

About a year passed and so did my dad. I wrote the lyrics to “Mental Break Down.” Now mind you, at the time… I was not a singer at all, but who else could sing this song but me, I thought. So I took to the mic and came out with the song that changed my musical career forever. It literally sent me flying into the next level of music. I played at some top named venues, I started gaining a large fan base, music was selling. It was crazy! I thank my dad for being one of my biggest inspirations in my life.

You see Feb marks the anniversary of his passing. I wanted to share this with you. My older fans “Starlights” are very familiar with this song but my new fans are not. I have to admit, I put the song that made me who I am today into hiding for several years. Why.. several reasons… it’s my first song, it has loads of memories (I still cry to it) and it’s an original recording. I have grown since this recording I guess I was not ready for people to hear the mistakes.

This is not right to my fans. You deserve to hear how I started out. You are investing in me and I am investing in you. We are one and if I can’t let go of things then I need to get out of this business. So, that is why…THIS is the Year of the Fans! There is a new version of this coming out. It’s almost completed. When it’s done, you will hear that version and compare your favorite mix.
